Drifting Continents

Drifting Continents

Drifting continents...
ย
Old friends from youth
Precious memories meldedย
With modern technologyย
FaceTime and Bluetoothย

These generous souls
Filled the void of a black hole
Warmed adolescent personalityย
With the light of springย
Banishing the dark winter cold

In the dawn of the millenniumย
Shelter from the winter storms
Cradelled insecuritiesย
Comforted by a council gas fires warm

They gaveย sanctuary
To two insecure soulsย
We were the seeds of crimeย
We would have germinated over time
Becoming incarcerated and coldย

How time fades
Like a BBQย briquettes glow
Distance is only distant
If you let it be so
