Drifting Continents

Drifting continents...
Old friends from youth
Precious memories melded
With modern technology
FaceTime and Bluetooth
These generous souls
Filled the void of a black hole
Warmed adolescent personality
With the light of spring
Banishing the dark winter cold
In the dawn of the millennium
Shelter from the winter storms
Cradelled insecurities
Comforted by a council gas fires warm
They gave sanctuary
To two insecure souls
We were the seeds of crime
We would have germinated over time
Becoming incarcerated and cold
How time fades
Like a BBQ briquettes glow
Distance is only distant
If you let it be so
