Poem -

Drifting Continents

Drifting Continents

Drifting continents...

Old friends from youth
Precious memories melded
With modern technology
FaceTime and Bluetooth

These generous souls
Filled the void of a black hole
Warmed adolescent personality
With the light of spring
Banishing the dark winter cold

In the dawn of the millennium
Shelter from the winter storms
Cradelled insecurities
Comforted by a council gas fires warm

They gave sanctuary
To two insecure souls
We were the seeds of crime
We would have germinated over time
Becoming incarcerated and cold

How time fades
Like a BBQ briquettes glow
Distance is only distant
If you let it be so

Hi Syd....The internet has connected so many people....that normally would not be able to stay in touch....It is a different world we live in.  I met my husband right here on Cosmo in 2014, so I know how much it can connect people....even across the globe, friends and family can feel much closer because of technology...It's a small world afterall!  Who knew? Great write. xo ;)

Thank you Cherie. Yes I totally agree. The internet has changed so much. I probably wouldn't even be writing if I didn't have like minded people to share them with on a poetry site. Thanks for reading and leaving feed back. I always appreciate your comments.

Take care  - Syd xo
