Drowning

Water rushing in.
The flowing rush over your body.
Pressure holding you down.
Like an anchor upon the seafloor.
Light is vanishing.
The darkness takes over.
Your movement fades.
One last bubble made.
Then no air remains.
Once you were a Captain,
A Businessman,
A Teacher,
A Father.
You had the world in your hands,
No problems,
No sorrow,
No pain.
Your family was enough.
Your job was enough.
Your life was enough.
But then the storm came.
You ran instead embracing.
You took anger, instead of love.
Then that last night,
With pen and paper on your desk,
You walked outside beside the pool.
There you made your last decision,
As your lungs emptied.
Will you let the pressures of life bring you to the water pressures?

Oho yes! This just ticks ALL the boxes for me Jason. Such astonishing poetry you have created here. The imagry and analogy, the structure and explanation without giving too much away. And although it's a dark theme it's simply very well written. Enjoyed this one a lot! Kudos!
