Drunken Groan

Drunken Groan

Amid the drunken groan,
I lay here all alone,
Weeping tears of pain,
Just wishing I had refrained.

Day now half gone and in bed,
Feeling like I'm dead,
Battling this demon for more,
Which deep down abhors.

Why so much misery contained,
Memories locked in brain,
Praying to release those years,
Trying to forget the fears.

I'm ready to just release,
Let go of past defeats,
And live a pleasant life,
Finally relieved of this strife.
