EARLY DAWN

EARLY DAWN

Her lips tastes of honey suckle in early morning rain.
She presses her mouth to the pulse beat at my neck
The tip of her tongue tickling me awake to wanting.
An exile in my own bed until her arms enfold me,
The lengths of her hair entangle me, her fingers
Preoccupied with pursuits that leaves my breath
Caught within the sound of bedewed breezes
That permeates the room with perfumed laughter.
I was a single being, just a man, until we met
That June night when the moon dripped stars
On the lake and she invited me into her smile.
Now, my life is in love with hers, loneliness gone.
Svelte, naked honey lying against my heart, the sensual beauty
Of her body, exquisite; desire in the pores of my skin…
Lip to lip, again and again with just one cry between us
We burn, drowning silence in the hush of the early dawn.

April!  Thanks.  I always write from a woman's perspective, thought I'd change it around a bit.
