Earth wounds

We start 
upon the time of now
As people complain of life
and do nothing 
as we study nothing new 
Environmentalists recycle and do all this
but say its inevitable 
lets ponder 
something new 
throw the textbooks aside 
and study the voices of the earth 
not just say its going to be destroyed by us 
place your feet upon the earth stricken dirt
and tell me

What is truly inevitable 
humanity's stubbornness till the death of them all
or
the learning and fixing from past and current mistakes

as once said 
the earth will live on and 
evolve to be able to cope
but will we grow alongside the flowers 
or burn down alongside 
the man made fires
