Edeweiss

Growing up amongst the meadow flowers
Such a fortunate child
She could have been birthed from Mother Nature 
She is so impulsively wild
Full of colourful character 
Edelweiss is her pretty name
She is an untamed agrarian
but the barbarian boys are to blame
Living amidst the blue ridge mountains of Virginia
with her three boisterous brothers, her Father Jacob and Mother Eugenia

Edelweiss is a necessary pair of helping hands as she herds the goat and sheep from her whistles and commands
When the early morning sun rises high in the sky as soon as she rouses from her sleep
She takes off happily trailing up the tracks with her goats and sheep
Bells will be ringing around the Nanny goats necks
as Edelweiss is sweetly singing through the mountain treks
She simply adores the hills and dales 
for she has known no others
This is like the wind in her wonderful white sails
playing and cavorting with her brothers

Edelweiss will wander far and wide betwixt and between the beautiful green
But as the sensational sun sets for the night 
Edelweiss will be seen running down through trails before the end of the sunlight
Affinity and adoration is in her heart and soul
Just like the rolling river on the foot of her hills with it’s rock and roll
The blue ridge mountains are where Edelweiss feels fantasically free
Not many miles away is a local Farmer’s son they shall meet and marry for her destiny
