Edge of the World

Edge of the World

I straighten your picture on my wall

The one I took last summer

With that old Nikon I still have

Your smile is beautiful

But your eyes have that faraway look

I look at you in that photograph

But you look straight through me

To who knows where

Perhaps that place on the edge

Of the world where you now are

I close my eyes and try

To reach out to you

But I feel nothing in return

I see you there

On the edge of the world

Looking straight through me

Sayed Thangal

Highly imaginative poem, it's a dramatic monologue. The duality is very important, one is body with life, the other one is soul, a lot of interpretation ...........well done.

Random Enigma

This is tragic but seems to have a sense of hope to it as well.  A quite enjoyable read
