That Elusive Peace of Mind

That elusive peace of mind.

Sometimes I find it, but it

fades like a mirage.

I can feel it in my grasp.

Then it slips through my

fingers - Like sand at the beach.

It’s as elusive as a rabbit,

And the dog running off with

my socks.

How can I find it?

How can I keep it?

I’ve searched for it in a

case of beer ,

And in some other

indulgences.

But all that caused was

hangovers and heartache.

I’ll keep searching.

I’ll search within; and I’ll

look to the heavens

And the good man upstairs.

And when I find it I hold it

as long as I can.
