Poem -

Embraced

And then it stung me, like a swarm of bees,
not a single leaf left upon the maple trees.

Brown trunks seemed displaced in all the white,
the pain of ice with its fiery might.

The downhill fall upon the sled
in the sea of snow I attempted to tread.

Screaming, yelping, and shrieking aloud,
all of the snow dissipated into the clouds.

Cold, wet, and frozen I trudged back home.
The plains and hills looked dazzled in chrome.
