Emptiness of silence

She sits, frozen,
nestled among the darkest of shadows
as suffocating mists intoxicate
no noise but silence.
Like a void closing inside
sucking dry the memories that define
hurl beats from the heart
slowly opens her eyes
no noise but silence.
AÂ blackened cave, deathly hollow
seeks strife for a fight
no exit, no light
a maze but entwined
among the frailest of mind Â
no noise but silence.

this one fascinates me, Jennifer...there are so many things about this poem that I really love, there are elements under the surface hidden, no way to know if I'm right in the interpretation but love listening to a poem while I'm reading it and this one lends itself very well to that technique Â
~~A blackened cave, deathly hollow
 seeks strife for a fight
 no exit, no light
I read without preconception and allowed it to speak, somehow this one has a voice that says the person in the poem finds refuge in dark places, a kind of shutting out the world for a while healing process; like sleeping...unique feature
~~Like a void closing inside
sucking dry the memories that define
I'm def. checking out more of your work, lots and lots of depth... fabulous stuff
