End of Half term holiday blues...

Memories

24/02/2020

That end of Half term holiday blues...

You all must remember what it feels like,
You know,
That end of Half term holiday blues.
Its strange,
But as a child the whole world slows down,
The minute they learn to tie their new school shoes.
Each half term holiday seems miles away,
To get there for a week,
And to disappear in what feels like just 1 day.
It’s horrible,
As when you’re having fun,
You don’t want to go back to school,
No more freedom and play,
You want it to everlast!
But its alright as Easter is on the horizon,
bringing with it spring and the start of warmer sunny days,
2 weeks that will surely go fast,
The first of our calendars special holidays...
Half term and then it’s the summer with its stronger sun Ray’s,
6 weeks of mayhem,
Loads more happy summertime memories made.
Then half term and harvest and half term again,
Bringing on autumn then winter with the cold winds and rain clogging the street drain.
Snow if we’re lucky as the last of the years half term passes,
Leading a pathway to christmas,
for 2 weeks of those amazing memories again.
Another year passed as the new year bell gongs,
Midnight kisses,
And the skies all around full of booms and glittery rain.
But here are some of our past weeks holiday snaps,
Showing the love my boys and I have for eachother,
Each day growing more and entwining our unconditional love,
Adding more links to our already immensely  strong chain.
Nothing can break it,
Not even titanium!
So yes I’ve got those half term holiday time blues,
I love having my boys the whole time around me,
The buzz in the house and the sound of them keeps me amused.
So pictures to me are priceless,
As you never know in the future which pathway we’ll all each choose.
My memories of my kids smiling,
Laughing and happy,
Are memories I’ll never want to lose!

Being Me

I loved the school holidays when mine were little .  All the other mums couldn't wait to get their kids back to school but I hated them going back to school more than they did.  Lovely, thought provoking poem x

I get that same feeling. Extra time with our kids should.be cherished not perished. A lot gets missed by parents even when they have things. Dont need money in life to be happy. Just to have enough to get by and to have just enough to treat my boys if I can x
