ENGLISH LANGUAGE

I'm sorry I don't understand what you said 
The English language is so confusing for my poor little head
Words have double meanings and sometimes three
In this poem you are about to see

A place is somewhere you have to go
It can also be a fish if you didn't already know 
Glasses are what you wear if you are short of sight
They are also very useful if you like to drink at night 

A sweet is candy as the Americans would say 
It can also be a nice person who brightens your day 
So the English language is confusing that is for sure
I have given you three examples but they are millions more
