Enough is enough

What gives someone else the right to think
that they
are better than someone else.
That they can decide someones fate
just because they are different 
It's not right. 

Cops have become not the safety beacons
they are meant to be
but people who abuse power
police are supposed to be good
but no

this is the world our parents are leaving us
stuck in a circle of the same events
we get to inherit a mess we didn't create
but we fix
yipee

enough is enough

what happened to all men created equal
women too

a little girl says to me
why is this our home?
this is Not how its supposed to be
this is a prison

what happened

It has always been this way
"Land of the free"
Yeah right

This isn't right 
Isn't this supposed to be over
aren't we supposed to love each other
not kill
not hurt
just for the tone of our skin
or the people we love
did we forget that

We HAD a civil war
Equality
Gender, race, religion, and sexuality
we're all made the same

the news shows violence
not peace
the news loves violence
not peace

we are expected to divide
but we try to stand together
they don't like that
they pick us off one by one

It's a wrong system 
people say,
"you dont look like me so,
you must be wrong"
power is abused
kids are killed
it isn't right

this isn't what we fought for
this isn't what we want
so where did it begin
