Era's End

Era's End

Let not my time be toiled to dim in death,

But breathe etern’ty’s soul, fore’er in breath.

The cloak deigns doom to slothery of soul –

A trudge of tribulation in flame’s ire –

And hollow out the bods that swallow whole

The potion of petulance – rotten fire

And waning blaze – hearts shred to shadowed coal.

Chain like a beast this reck’ning force unbound

With blazing cries of greed, lust, wrath, pride:

The most magnanimous of forces found

To fuel the sloth’s drive in soft, sinful chides

And let what is exist fulfilled and sound.

Fret not of death; of Time; of void ends nigh;

For what lives this life will too someday die.
