Escape

Escape

The ocean

The calming blue

The soft, hot sand

Makes a place where I can escape

From the hardships of the past

And the truth of reality.

The icy, relaxing cold

And the steady splash of the water

Makes a place where worries don't exist.

But the memories are fading

And the sadness returns

And I can't escape anymore.

I'm growing up too fast

Because reality is a thing I constantly face

And I can't pretend anymore.

But the ocean returns

And I realize

That I can still escape.
