Every Day

It's You I Die For Every Day

Every day I deny my Lord thrice

Like the sons of thunder I sin in anger

Once a day I doubt and put my finger in the side of Life

As Phillip among Samaritans I have a penchant to transgress in worship

I frequently get caught up in the details like Martha

By midday, I break my promises

Before the work is finished I become slothful like the Beloved upon Christ's bicep

I am sure to grumble like Bartholomew

And I may have taken more than what was owing me, much like the tax collector

Whereas, I keep account of all my good deeds and boast as James might do or Paul

Like Mary, I provoke a bit of jealousy

Even in this I could be falsely humble

My sins scatter into all cardinal directions

And like Judas before the dawn

I take my own life

Every day
