Everything Is Dark
Everything is dark
I can't breathe
Is this what it feels like to die,
To suffocate?
I just need this to be done
Everything. Done.
Only then will I feel like this battle has been won.Ā
It's as if the light has gone from my life.
The darkness, all consuming.
Can I hold on any longer?
Do I want to?
What does life mean with out you?
It's dark and cold.
Too lonely to bear.
I'm trying to catch my breath in this thick air.Ā
Who am I without you?
I don't even know what I like anymore.
I'm consumed with only thoughts of you.
What you likeĀ
What you believe
How you feelĀ
And how you think.
Everything is dark.
I can't breathe.

I think we've all lost someone we love more than life itself, Chesney.
God knows I have.
But we soon realize that life goes on, whether we want it to or not.
So, ask yourself this question: Do you think he is thinking the same kind of thoughts about you as you are about him?
Is he having trouble sleeping, or does he sleep like a baby?
Has he lost his appetite and is he finding it hard to keep anything down?
Or, is he eating like a king?
If the answer is "No" to any of the above questions, it is probably best to move on and find someone who appreciates you for who you are.
Nicely penned, powerful and emotive.

Dean- I have thought all of those things and Iām sure he is doing just fine! I have moved on and found someone who truly does make me happy and is my best friend. This poem was written over a year ago I just was too afraid to publish! Thank you for your kind words and insight!
