Exhausted Love

My beloved,

Without notice a magnet entered

My heart, drawing me towards infinity.

My attraction is surreal, my love:

Elusive, arcane, and Delphic. Thus,

I was astonished to hear you utter, “I love you.”

Such words resonated within, harpooning

My soul, shocking my system.

We embarked upon our journey, absorbed

In expression, loving unto the birth of

New dimensions.

But immortality wouldn’t favor our love.

We were severed at the core, dying in segments.

The words—I love you—became mundane.

We perished in the arms of radiance,

Mourning the death of our amore.
