Exodus

Exodus

Was it the autumn
that changed the world
intpĀ a place of exodus?
Where the flapping wings
of countless birds
collect in their multitudes|
flying away over cornfields
dry and faded, the winds
bending them as though
they too are trying to leave.

The crimson beauty
of the changing season
disappears falling leaf by leaf
into the wide streams
that are themselves
migrating to the sea,
afraid what lies ahead.

Even in the city
the bare concrete
is grey and cold
as it witnesses
the abandonment
of natures
Flora and fauna.

My spirit sits in envy
Of the winged creatures
flying to a southerly clime.

Hey Fellow Canadian

Thank You Kindly

This one had a bit of

fear of Natures Winter

But I love the seasons in Canada

and will never become a snowbird
