Expiation

Expiation

When the last petal
of faith falls off.
And water will not
bring life back into my core.

Mama, don’t you cry when I’m gone.
Red tears feast on

black holes in your chest
and light is needed to fight for revenge.

Mama, don’t you cry when I’m gone.
Don’t stand over the dirt,
blaming your arms for not being warm.

Mama, don’t you cry when I’m gone.
Look around, see the love.
Touch the ground, feel the pulse.
Breath in, let a smile slip.
Because mama, you are with me.
Still lighting my way,
as I walk to my next journey.
