EYES

Written by Anderson Heredia
A poem about observations and contradicting beliefs.
They who is you and I, reader and writer, see that which is unseen in the eyes of another. They who is you and I, hater and lover, have been told the eyes are the window to the soul. As thought about by author and singular being, I ask the question.
What do you have when you look into the eyes of a monster and see no soul to be found?
A question without answers? No, a question under false pretense and a statement under which is faulty.
There can be no soul if something is missing and all of us are broken.
Us, you and I, incomprehensible beings, gender specific creatures of habit. Broken as we are, emotions govern actions and save the pitiful.
It is not the soul you see but the emotions and lack of emotions sought after in seeing.
The eyes of a slave show a story of begrudging misery, forlorn tales, hate, and a agony for a life long deceased but never forgotten.
In seeing you feel, and what you feel you share. Sharing a part which makes I and you, hater and lover, writer and reader, satisfied but never whole.
In these experiences a bond is shared, whether mutual, parasitic or commensalistic?
I have no answer. The answer given to you which I can give is meaningless in thoughts beyond caring. Beyond humanity. Beyond listening. Beyond feeling. Beyond the far unwilling to go closer and the close unwilling to move farther.
The eyes that are apart of myself and you, are not windows to the soul but the beings we are, desire to, were, and are going to be.
But contradictory, they who is all come to say āEmotions lie beyond simply seeingā.

great write linda
I love this...love love...Ā
And it's really an exciting write because it shows that some are living with a tunnel vision and some can't stop looking all around.. the answer is looking within... I think that's why as a human race we are going to survive... we are being brought to a place of empowerment...xo Ā Great write..xo
