Eyes Afire, Heart of Ice

It started with a teardrop in the ocean,
A candle in the woods,
And then it happened,
And now the water is rising,
Its rising so fast,
And the forest is alight,
Burning so quickly,
I cannot swim past the rushing currents,
I cannot run past the blazing inferno,
Distant eyes,
Faded soul,
Empty heart,
I am running in circles,
Avoiding the blaze,
I am struggling to the surface,
To avoid drowning,
Every lie you tell,
Drags us further under the waters,
Pulls us closer to the blazing fire.

Let me tell you how this will end,
My eyes are afire,
MY heart is Ice,
My soul is fortified with stone,
You are out in the open,
As the beast prowl,
And the birds shriek,
You tangle in the twisted bracken,
You drown under the rising tide,
You burn in the inferno,
Just to avoid telling me the truth?
