eyes in the sky
When I was three
They did say this to me
There's a man in the sky
And he has all his eyes
On you

When I was thirteen
A scissors did slip
It snagged on my wrist
Going snip snip snip snip
And I told it to me
That the great eye could see
Of my sin

And all through there on
I have cowered in stealth
Bargaining prayers for a home
And some wealth
Striving for goodness
Though terrified be
And confused if the eye
In my mind is just me

And all through the years
I have looked all about
To glimpse my great stalker
And ask it to stop for,
My shoulders are aching
My head dare not look
For fear of my name in
Some Holy bad book

And now to my great luck
Or terrible shame
I've no need to fear
An eye in the sky
A doctor has recently
Gave it a name
It is called paranoia
And maybe insane

Oh, Marion! This is the thing isn't it? About religion. We are told from very young how "He" is always watching us. Be good or else sort of thing. It's brainwashing, basically, to keep you following the faith. So it's no wonder that it affects our minds. There is something more to the universe but it's not some old dude watching our every move from the clouds, believing that is enough to make anyone paranoid.
