EYES WIDE OPEN

Beauty will go away again, of
course
It will leave its insecure perch,
slowly shedding bits of
itself, like feathers falling
From a high up ridge, where
the insecure weep and wail
Do you see them fall?
Topple off edges in cry and
flail, falling to shallow death
Forever, on vanity's stake
Impaled
Do you see them?

Real beauty goes way deeper than the surface. If there is no beauty to be found when you dig then there is no beauty there at all, despite what the face may say. Surface beauty is not important it folds into itself eventually anyway.. If only more people realised this x

So true, was just saying to Jim...the number of 30 year olds I know on the Botox and filler kick!! Brainwashed to lifelong unhappiness and insecurities now...if only they could see it!! 💕
