Heavy Heart

I look to the heavens and seek guidance

For all I have done I pray for penance

I have done so much to hurt those I hold dear

It is now, at the end, that all becomes clear 

Why did I not choose the path I surely see ?

A path to all encompassing love for eternity.

I've lived a life that was only for my own gain

It's time to accept my unworthy soul was to blame.

I now face the judgement with a heavy heart

To explain my worldly deeds, where do I start ?

There can only be one verdict from those I wronged

Perhaps in their prescience I never truly belonged

Others found happiness, being honest and true

For sin, I can accept the punishment and ordeal I do.
