FADING MEMORY (LOST PAPER AND PEN)

I must write it down before I forget
Will certainly be important I'm willing to bet
Now where is that pen and that notepad too
Must be getting old for I haven't a clue

No shame in getting old it happens to us all
A fact of life known since I was small
Don't distract me I'm trying to remember
I know that you are visiting me is it in September?

So my memory is fading I'm sorry to say
Not surprising as I turned eighty five yesterday
If only I had my youth with me once again
I would remember where I put that paper and pen
