Falcon to Ground Control

Coooooey....
"I am alone"
Low cloud fell while I traversed in a spell
I know not if this be a mountain crag
Or a valley descending to downward
hell
My joints are dry
My lungs be drenched
I shiver with cold and fists aclenched
Yet my ears burn aflame
From tongues of my accusers
As my own cleaves to my pallet
Deaf to saving muses
This silent march puffing infantile gasps
Accentuates my limp appeal
And precarious clutch of hawser clasps
I thank the rock for its sturdy flint
Relieved to know it shall not crumble
Though I cannot see I sturdy my feet
And mumble a prayer to the one I love
Determined not to stumble

Hey AL!!......this is an intriguing piece......I don't quite get some of the references but the fact that it's a melodrama helped me to understand intent a bit!!......You'll have to explain it to me some time!!......Enjoyed this my friend!!.......LOVE & ROCKETS!!......T xo : )
Ps.....I tried to leave stars but something was wrong!! Sorry!!
Tony...tick the stars after writing the comment...it will work!
Thanks guys! It was really just a creative piece responding to the discovery that "coooee" (a sound I once screamed as a 13 year old as a cry for help when I was lost on a mountain in the Budawangs) means "I am alone", according to a book I'm reading that was published in 1883.
It is about dark nights of the soul, when we've gone wayward and lost our bearings on the moral compass. It speaks of our vulnerability to our own inner demons, yet it ends with hope, inspired by words from the prophet Micah: "though I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be my light."
Hi Al. This one sounds vague but intriguing. You always write great poems so obviously I will always read it...even if this one I don't know much about it. Px?
I had the feeling of falling into the unknown reading this Al...nice write ?
