Poem -

Fallen

I feel this pull toward you
Yet you push me away
I do not yet know why
But I will always stay

I know you feel as I do
So I will find a way
A way to make you see
I mean what I say

You tell me we’ve never met
Yet I know you somehow
You seem so familiar to me
Like I haven’t just met you now

We have barely passed words
Except for you to shut me down
And yet you saved my life
So go ahead and tell me now

You don’t care about me
Tell me you don’t care
Or maybe you could try for the truth
Come on it’s only fair

I see these images when we get close
I see them when we touch
Actually they’re more like memories
Sadly, I don’t see them much

You saved me from the statue
Rescued me from the fire
I remember being in your arms
And flying higher and higher

I see the worried look on your face
Every night in my dreams
I see the blue and white of the sky
And your bright white wings
