Falling for an angel

Falling for an angel

I thought he was what I needed,
What I had been craving so long.
I was so wrong,
I begged with God, I pleaded,
Make him for me,
Down on his knee,
Empty promises are seeded,
In every one of his empty lies,
To say ‘I do’ through lows and highs,
I can’t, I won’t, I shouldn’t and you can’t make me,
Try me, use me, let me bleed, hurt me,
Know they all do,
That second you think they’re what you need,
It’s not your love they’re after, they’re filling their greed,
Empty pockets, full of deceit,
We give them a chance, all they do is repeat,
Wanting more women to believe,
In the end it’s all we can do to grieve,
We invest in tragedy, yet they get to reprieve.
Was he worth the pain, would you do it again?
Of course, we’re all fools in the eyes of love,
All puppets in a larger scheme from above.
