Farewell Spit. NZ

Farewell Spit. NZ

              Farewell

      Farewell, Farewell,
    You 350 sperm whales

   that perished,stranded In

the shallows of an outgoing tide
  Despite the efforts of humans
Who all rallied to your cries

   Using Spades and buckets
  And wet blankets of water
   Trying to save your lives.
         Tears are shed
             Humans
            Whales

           Mixed
         Together.
     Crying dieing
  Singing tales of woe

Farewell         Farewell.

Thanks Christopher. Yes sad, and the worst stranding

for many years on this particular Bay with its  huge sand-spit

that seems to confuse the whales and they get caught by

the outgoing tide.
