fate

fate

Sideways up the downward spiral
Glancing never behind again
Risking all to find that final
Finding of what follies be

Never asking never hoping
Simply pushing onward then
Only to finish what you have started
And finding yourself at the beginning again

Oh, to be the walls and mirrors!
And knowing which ways to go and not
But Fate is a humorous, sly little creature
That clouds our perception of every thought

And, though, we should stumble
Fall
Slide down that spiral
And think that we never will come back again
We really are all where we ought to be anyway
In this place we always and never have been.
