Poem -

FATE

Whatever fate deals me I accept
I am tired of running
Tired of searching
Tired of seeming to care
I will lie down and let life trample me

I give in
I have decided that it is useless abstaining
I have realised that nothing happens as I will it
I know that the future is anxiously waiting
For me to give in and accept my due

I ran away long ago
I hid among the paths I erratically followed
I wasted much thought and will
Aching to reach peace
That fate now says will never come

At last it is time to admit defeat
Time to let life batter me
Time to accept all that is force fed me
Time to achieve conformity

I hope I taste good
When living swallows me whole
It must digest all of me
Bones must disintegrate
Flesh must evaporate
My mind must be still
