A Father's Song

I sang a song,
Didn't know it would take this long,
In mid chorus I watched you grow
Right in my arms,
Precious child I croon,
Your safe from harm,
Music a slow soft silhouette,
Soothes the eyes closed,
I fear the worst, but see nothing but the best
In you, for you i'm composed,
To support you lose or win
Make you comfortable in your skin,
Teach you life's beat
The only way I see it.
This proud composer,
Conducting his beautiful instruments
In life's symphony,
One day you'll sing a song,
For some reason it's never long,
And make sweet music,
Beautifully.
