A Father's Fight

From the first day I loved my little girl

I have seen her grow and watched her sleep 

she is my world, my love, my lose 

We have had the greatest gift on earth taken from us

The gift of a father 

From the first day I have loved my little girl

I have cherished and valued every second with her 

I have counted the minutes till I can see her again 

I have made sacrifices to be able to see her more 

Just to be told "NO"... 

I am a Father who wants to be a Father 

I have never done anything worth doing compared to this 

This is my mission 

This is my cause 

My world stops every Thursday morning 

Just to begin every tuesday afternoon 

From the first day I loved my little girl 

The love of a Father cannot be replaced 

The love of a Daughter is one I will take to my grave

My heart is heavy with regret and sadness 

Not, that I am not with her mother 

But that i can't be what she deserves

Seem dull and pointless

If you're not in them 

Thoughts of wild nights and parties 

Are now tea parties and kid movies on the couch 

These are nights I can't get enough of 

I never thought I could paint nails 

From the first day I loved my little girl 

And I hope she knows that from the 12 hours a week I get to see her

For a Father it is nothing 

Nothing but a moment filled with joy

And a week full of missing your love

A week without a heart 

A week without your soul 

Just have purpose again on Tuesday afternoon 

From the first day I loved my little girl 

Till my last day I will love 

I will cherish 

and I will FIGHT for you
