FATHER'S PRIDE

At the age of five his father diedĀ
Made a pledge to fill him with prideĀ
Worked hard at school and grades were met
The outside world beckoned he was set

Jobs followed jobs nothing was fulfillingĀ
Variety of work including oil drillingĀ
Then one day he decided to help the human race
Something to put a smile on his late father's faceĀ

The pay wasn't good but he was satisfiedĀ
Hoping that his father would be filled with prideĀ
Helping the needy and less fortunate than heĀ
I'm sure his father would be proud I'm sure you agree
