Fear

Fear, why do you cripple me?
Why do you laugh at my anxiety? And make me feel useless in front of anybody?
Why do you try to make it hard to breathe? Especially when I walk away and try to leave?
Why do you make me avoid the mirror on the wall? Or make me avoid anything at all?
Why do you haunt me in my sleep? Is it because I'm in too deep?
All I want to do is heal and figure out more than just how to deal...To get back to what is real..

Juniper Grove, not too many poets think to take on a subject like 'fear' and you did a terrific job here, creative not distracting rhymes that enhance the poem, as a reader I would've preferred a sharper format, (a question having its own line) for more emphasis, but other than that, a very good poem with a great subject matter and articulation, good read, and welcome to the site, Juniper
Thanks Christopher! I appreciate the compliment and advice ? my anxiety causes fear and I knew it was important for my first piece to be about that.
I also enjoyed this piece. Simple without complications.
Thanks Neil. To me the simpler the better. Get straight to the point.
Hi Juniper, fear sure takes a lot from us. Great write. Warm regards.
Thanks Cleo! I agree whole heartedly. It can consume us if we let it.
