Fiery Plumes

Fiery Plumes

Happy are the tulips!
Their silken pedals sing!
Fragrant wine; to sip,
Cup of love; to bring!

Array of flowers; give,
To each and all of man.
Inspiring words; to live!
Musical lives; to plan!

Connected stoic plumes,
Reflecting Holy shine!
Positive soul, then grooms,
Testaments; of divine!

Fiery plumes; the story,
Intoxicating glory!

I always buy my wife tulips. Not sure if she actually likes them, but it's the thought that counts I suppose.

I enjoyed your poem Jim.

What a lovely write Jim. Tulips don't grow much here in Aus, the most I've ever seen was when I went to Washington DC not too far from the Arlington national cemetery. Either way I really enjoyed reading this one my friend. Hope you are doing well!

thank you Max for the support! hope you are prospering! really cool you saw DC! I saw it as a kid and have fond memories! all thoughΒ  I heard it is a rough town now. our government is getting very corrupt and our main stream media is corrupt, but our people are mostly still trying! The big cities are most of the problem. sad stuff ! I love watching Youtube vids about Down Under!

The reason why our country (Holland) is always covered with them in the season - too many grumpies to blind to see the beauty and inspiration πŸ˜‡ Love thisΒ

You can beat an egg and a drum maybe .. but you just can't beat a bloomin beautiful flower .. except for in a poem perhaps and then, I always think two lips are better than just one .. :)Β

Jim, it's good to be back and with an engaging sonnet to meet and greet.
And such a cleverly and deftly written one at that, a story within a story, potential within potential.
Masterfully imagineered and displayed and as this so so poets memory recalls your word length is much more shorter than your sonnets of past.
Less is more so to speak and cut to the chase when called upon.
Great write my friend and thank you again, not just for writing a touch of class message poem, but of the good virtue's occurring and transpiring within recent messages.
Thanks Jim for writing and that much needed moral support.
All good and never forgotten.

Congratulations Jim for your win and for making the contest frame!
Everything good comes to those who wait, as the old adage goes and your entry with Nev's and Greg's is good to see and know that the judges choose more than wisely and varied.
All good to see on here.
Salutations again to you good Jim and you have earnt and deserved it my friend :)
