First and Last Love

As I lay here

On the cold wooden floor

I've had my heart broken once

Maybe twice before

You were my first love

You made me smile

You and I would talk all the while

I finally felt complete

We started having fights

The clouds started to cover

You were harsh with your wording

When I asked, why you were hurting

You said it was me

That I've been too far away

Then you left

Saying, "leave me be."

I haven't been okay

Since that terrible ending

I've tried to love again

But I'm never winning…
