Fizzled Out

Fizzled Out

When she kissed her prince
there was zero electricity

No hormonal chemistry
that basic biology demands

No tingle in the toes

So she let practical happiness go

Even though she knows
physical passion is as fleeting
as yesterday's Earth moving orgasm

Fare thee well
to the perfect man
to be happily ever after with
in a sustainable fashion

Done in by finicky biology

All that remains
is her everlasting regret
for releasing
long term contentment
that fell into her lap
