Flaming June?!

Flaming June?!

A chink of sun trying to break out of the rain,
Shall I try and put my washing out again?

I’ll risk it, run out quick with pegs at the ready,
Hanging out clothes that the previous downpour has made heavy.

Once again they are hung out, wind blowing them on the line,
I keep checking out of the window but the weather remains fine.

A sigh of relief, my washing will get dried at long last,
Oh no! Rain drops on the window pane, I’d better get them in again fast!
