Poem -

Flight of The Phoenix

Seconds slip into hours and hours into month
I can't tell where yesterday ended and today had begun.
It all fades as another memory-
No matter the attempts or strength wasted-
To sustain a moment

To raise from the ashes.
To consume with no end to the hunger.
To reach for the sky only to find-
Your in another void.

To die alone with an empty heart
Carved out of an unwilling chest;
To realize there was nothing left
Then reach for the sunset.

Pages keep turning but I'm not sure if that's just to keep my life
in motion or a constant reminder I've lost myself within the text
Subjected to neglect those I swore to protect.

Mountains corrode to stone and stone into dust.
I can't keep selling myself short with lies that I construct
The truth is loosely told to prove I am still a man-
of my world when my world bursts into flames

To raise from the ashes.
To consume with no end to the hunger.
To reach for the sky only to find-
You're in another void.

To die alone with an empty heart
Carved out of an unwilling chest;
To realize there was nothing left
Then reach for the sunset.

I've been dreaming of death in a hollow embrace.
It said you survive on faith until bliss has lost its taste-
Just as I've fallen faint to the calls to disengage I fear I've lost my faith.
