Florence

Florence

From far away, her journey starts;
Her strident shrieks to heaven climb.
The ocean feeds her rising rage,
And no one can predict her time.

Across the vast expanse she goes,
Her windswept hair of clouds her crown.
Along her path are cries of woe
As islands soak her tears and drown.

She reaches land in darkened skies,
And all the trees convulse with fear.
Undressed and scarred when she arrives,
They start to groan, for death is near.
