flowers

She gave me her flowers,
For months, she cared.
She watered them everyday,
And watched them bloom.
But one day, something changed.
She stopped visiting them,
They only got watered when it rained.
Until one day, they just dried up.
She threw them away,
And gave her flowers to someone else.

Hi EJSNEED!!.....on my second read through it hit me just how powerful this really is......the devastation of loss delivered behind the bloom and wilt of flowers ......it's done so succinctly that you almost miss the intensity of the words and their intent!!.....This is an excellent write that speaks to the powerful hurt felt when love is lost......I absolutely love the window dressing of ~
