FLOWERS

FLOWERS

There was a boy I liked a lot.
Picked me a flower, so I thought.
My heart filled with love, as he shot me a glare,
"Not for you, for her over there."
My eyes filled with tears, and one fell to the floor,
He didn't even notice the dress that I wore.

There was a girl a few years later,
I thought for sure that I would hate her.
A funny feeling, I felt happy,
But I thought she'd look right past me.
"Hello" she said "these are for you,
I thought you'd like some flowers, too"
