Poem -

Fly

We’re gonna fly away one day.
One of these days our wings are gonna grow
With grace,
defined by age.
Fly with me to that place
Where we fly with broken wings
And
Feathers clipped to remain,
Faithful to our cage.
When an open window
Only symbolizes
The fall that defines its irony
In purpose.

We’re all gonna fly one day,
Through that open window
Clipped or broken wing
The same.

Away.

The places our broken dreams
Take flight.
Bound by the wind that propels us.

We’re gonna fly away one day…
even if this poet gives us broken wings
to make her metaphor
translate
her pain.

I swear.

There is one place that our wings will mend.
The place where the stars shine
And
Where the wind breaks.

We’re all gonna fly one day
Where the wind can’t touch us.

Where her words evaporate.
