Poem -

For However Long Forever Is

"Come lay with me" he whispers into the dimly lit
March air, pulling me closer with each passing second;
fleeting, yet familiar- and as his words gently hit
my ears, I feel his pulse intertwine with my own.

The wind and rain starts up again
as we reminisce on that November night.
I tell him not to worry as I look into his ocean eyes-
I tell him everything will be alright.

I am to him as he is to me-
Beyond the infinite waters of the unforgiving
tomorrow; we close our eyes and know each other again.

But to others who catch our gaze, or even look our way,
we are two candles with one flame-
burning side by side, for however long forever is.

The imagery of this poem is so evocative of love and passion. It beautifully captures that feeling of being in love, melding with another person, where it feels like it will last forever.
Beautiful!
