FOR THE LOVE OF A COW

FOR THE LOVE OF A COW

Have you looked into that cows eye
And seen the beauty there
Have you ever stopped to ponder
Her wants, her needs, her cares
Have you ever heard her cry
Outraged
Violated, once again
Nowhere to escape to
Held tightly in her pen
Did you view her as a mother
As she trundled up the road
Chasing precious cargo
Her baby
Crated
In that load
And why
For us
For us, of course
For we kill them all
Lamb, duck, cow, horse
So in lighted aisle

Country wide
We buy their eggs
Their meat and hides
For that plastic package
Of dead meat
And her baby,s milk
From her weeping teats.
