I know a guy,

His name is regret,

You look him in the eye,

And writhe in your sweat,

He won't go away,

He's not done with you yet,

Your memories begin to play,

And you just can't forget,

Forget your grim past,

How ugly it was,

Forget how you were harassed,

And the town went abuzz,

I know it's hard,

This horror you must relive,

I know you were scarred,

But it's time to forgive,

Forgive and forget, that's what they say,

The time has come,

For your bitterness to decay,

Pick up your dignity,

Pack away your scars,

It's time you had the ability,

To tear down those bars,

Forgive and forget, that's what they say,
