Forgotten Fairytale

She couldnt remember falling,
Only smiling,
She didnt know when it happened,
She couldnt name how either,
Not that anyone would believe it anyways,
So she was silent,
Smiling to herself in the dark,
Remembering how once upon a time she was the princess of a fairytale,
She didnt remember crying,
But all of a sudden her cheeks were damp,
And it was getting harder to breathe,
She thought her fairytale would make her smile,
So why instead did she cry,
Was it the ending they never showed us?
Was it the way it fell apart so fast,
Maybe it was just time to say goodbye and end the story,
Her chapter had finished,
Was it time to clear the path and make room for someone else?
She hoped so, because there was no rescuing a destroyed book.

This really does make the reader think about the realities of what is happiness. Is a sugar sweet perfect world really a happy one? Even those who look perfect in life can be carrying the weight of sorrow. Giving up can suddenly feel appealing. Her sudden ability to feel was like a wake up call.  That’s what I got from reading this quirky and clever writeÂ
Great stuffÂ
