FORTY YEARS AGO TODAY

Settled and comfortable in his New York life
Found happiness sharing this with a loving wife
Creative juices he had in abundance for sure
Always stood for freedom and despised war

However all this was aborted by a killer's gun
Forty years ago today was the dimming of the sun
John Lennon was an icon in so many ways
Was definitely worthy of hero status and praise

So unfair and so unjust his life ended so soon
Five o'clock in New York on a late afternoon
Rest in peace John Lennon wish you were here today
What actions would you take what would you say ?

Hello Kieran...

It's quite ironic that one John Lennon's quote was Everybody loves you when you're 6 feet under...

I remember that day he was killed...

I was 13 and I was in School when the announcement came over the intercom...

After the announcement the rest of the day is a blurr...

I don't think our brains let us learn anything the rest of the day...

Great tribute!

Thank you for sharing...

Honestly, to be honest Kieran, I know more about Avicii committing suicide then i do John Lennon. For our artists we stand strong. Best wishes. Your friend Max
